Our Vision

ReID-Wild is built on a simple idea: technology should serve the needs of conservation practitioners and the ecosystems they protect. Our vision is to work alongside rangers, ecologists, and community groups to develop tools that genuinely support their daily reality in the field. By listening directly to those on the front line of biodiversity protection, we aim to understand the challenges they face and the knowledge they need to safeguard Aotearoa’s native wildlife.

Through co-designing an accessible and intuitive platform, we can collect high-quality ecological information that reveals how stoats behave, move, and interact with their environments. This creates a richer window into predator dynamics—one that empowers conservation decision-making and strengthens long-term monitoring.Placeholder / Placeholder / Placeholder / Placeholder / Placeholder Placeholder / Placeholder / Placeholder / Placeholder /

Tō Mātou Rerenga – Our Journey

Tō Mātou Haerenga – Our Journey is an innovative conservation-focused platform co-designed with field rangers, ecologists, and community partners across Aotearoa to create a practical, intuitive, and secure environment for understanding stoat behaviour in the wild.

Guided by the principles of kaitiakitanga and collective stewardship, our journey brings together technology and ecology to explore the landscapes where stoats move, forage, and interact. Through an engaging and accessible interface, users can navigate real field sites, explore ecological patterns, visualise animal encounters, and unlock new insights about predator dynamics as they contribute to protecting native species.
